Windows 10 failed to detect Intel VT-x

Symptoms:
  • You can’t run any virtual OS such as: Android emulator, Oracle VirtualBox guest OS

Oracle VirtualBox or Android AVD gave warning about “Intel VT-x is not available”, although:

  • Intel VT-x is supported by your CPU. (Download CPU-Z to make sure)
  • Intel VT-x is already enabled in your BIOS. (To enter advanced reboot in Windows 10: press and hold SHIFT key while choosing “Restart” , then choose “UEFI Firmware Settings”)
  • You already uninstall/disable Hyper-V (via “Turn Windows features on and off” and command:
    dism.exe /Online /Disable-Feature:Microsoft-Hyper-V

    and then restart).

Solution:

Last resort would be:

  1. downloadingĀ Device Guard and Credential Guard hardware readiness tool
  2. Extract
  3. run (in elevated PowerShell) and reboot:
    .\DG_Readiness_Tool_v3.5.ps1 -Disable -AutoReboot

Your virtualization should work as usual.
